11 月 12 日晚，上海美国中心将再度请到曾来此作客并大受欢迎的喜林苑（The Linden Centre）创始人 Brian Linden 与 Jeanee Linden，他们此次前来将会来为大家作题为 “喜林苑：探索与修复”的讲座，同时也会介绍他们在苏州城外太湖（东山）岸上的最新项目。喜林苑位于云南喜洲，不仅是一家精品酒店，也是个跨文化交流中心，倡导的是一种可持续的旅游模式，将文化传承、对历史遗产的保护和提高当地村民生活水准有机地结合起来，自创立以来已在其位于大理的三个院落接待了超过 20 万名客人。除了提供精品酒店的服务外，喜林苑也是一个为世界各地国际学校学生团队提供教育项目的文化平台，其合作伙伴有位于美国华盛顿的西德维尔友谊中学、普林斯顿在亚洲、印第安纳大学、明德学院、上海美国学校等，并定期开设各类主题的工作坊。

Back by popular demand, on November 12, 2019, the Shanghai American Center will host Brian and Jeanee Linden, co-founders of the Linden Center for a talk on “Exploration and Restoration with the Linden Centre” and their newest project outside of Suzhou on the shores of Lake Tai (in Dongshan).  Located in Xizhou, Yunnan, the Linden Centre is a boutique hotel and center for cultural exchange established with the goal of creating a sustainable tourism model that would combine preservation and investment in the villagers' economic and social well-being. Since its founding, the Centre has welcomed over 200,000 visitors to their three Dali heritage sites. In addition to the boutique hotel experience, the Centre's international education programs include semester-long research courses with Sidwell Friends, partnerships with Princeton-in-Asia, Indiana University, Middlebury, Shanghai American School, and regular conferences/workshops focusing on various topics.

Brian 和 Jeanee 会和大家分享当初为何毅然卖掉美国的房子而将积蓄投入这个项目，和当地政府合作的独特经验，还会讨论在喜马拉雅东南山麓遗迹以及近来在苏州所从事的工作中都分别遇到了怎样的挑战。

Brian and Jeanee will share their story of why they sold their home in America and invested their life savings in the project, introduce their unique partnerships with the prefectural and county governments, and discuss the challenges of working in the southeast vestiges of the Himalayas and most recently their undertaking in Suzhou.

报名须知

13 岁以下儿童谢绝参加本活动。请确保您用于预约的名字和您证件上的名字是一致的。每个人每场活动只能报名一次，重复报名同一场活动可能会导致您的报名无效。

This program is not suitable for children under 13. Please make sure the name used to register for the event matches the name on your ID. Individuals may register for one seat per event. Those who register multiple times for the same event risk having all registrations cancelled.

我们至少会在活动开始前15分钟启动安检流程以及入场。请您携带有效并带有照片的身份证件原件进入上海美国中心，证件复印件或照片将不被接受。成功报名活动的观众将优先入场，如果还有余位，我们会向没有报名的观众开放。

Doors will open and security screening will commence at least 15 minutes before the program starts. You must bring a valid physical photo ID in order to enter the Shanghai American Center (ShAC). Copies or pictures of IDs will not be accepted. People who RSVP’d will be admitted first; all others may be accommodated on a space available basis.

安检过程中，我们会对所有即将进入上海美国中心的物品进行扫描。请勿携带笔记本电脑进入上海美国中心，手机、iPad及其他平板设备、智能手表等允许携带。

All belongings carried into the ShAC will be scanned during security screening. While guests may not bring laptop computers to Shanghai American Center programs, portable electronic devices, such as mobile phones, iPads and other tablets, and smartwatches are permitted.

媒体采访须直接与美国驻上海总领事馆新闻处联系。此外，禁止对活动进行录音或录影。

Press inquiries should be directed to the U.S. Consulate Shanghai Press Office. Additionally, audio or video recording of the program will not be permitted.

活动参与者永久性授权上海美国中心和美国国务院在包括互联网在内的任何合法的政府和非政府出版物中发布、展示、编辑、更改、复制或分发其肖像，并无需支付酬劳或者申请批准。

All program participants grant the Shanghai American Center and the U.S. Department of State permission to publish, exhibit, edit, alter, copy, or distribute their likeness in a photograph in any and all publications for Government or nongovernment purposes, including website entries and any lawful purpose, without payment, approval, or any other consideration in perpetuity.

上海美国中心工作人员保留拒绝任何人进入的权利。

Staff of the ShAC reserve all rights to refuse entry.
